For more than 20 years he has written for newspapers in the United States, Mexico and El Salvador. She holds a bilingual Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA). His stories, poems and translations have been published in specialized literary magazines in Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, the United States and France.
Two times winner of the Latin Podcast Award (USA), twice winner of the National Poetry Award (SLV) and two times winner of an International Journalism Award (SLV, PER). In 2023, he won an award for Excellence in Journalism for the report: “República Finquera: portrait of authoritarianism in Central America”. He also published Paranormalidades: Crónicas apócrifas de Ciudad Juárez. In 2022, he won two Floral Games in El Salvador, with his poetry books “Éxodos” and “Sancire”. That same year, he participated in an anthology about Ciudad Juárez, entitled “En las tierras de Manto Negro” (In the lands of Manto Negro). In that same year, they published her bilingual poetry book “front-tears” in Label Me Latina/o 2022. In 2018, he published his first noir novel, “Memoria Periodística en México”.
In 2012, he was anthologized in “Memorias de la casa. Antología narrativa de 12 autores” (El Salvador). In 2005 he won the National Journalism Award of El Salvador for a report on the contamination of the Gulf of Fonseca.Since 2018, she has been a member of the Zurdo Mendieta Collective in Ciudad Juárez, where she participates in various print and educational literary projects.
